HISTORY

Richard Messier acquired his real estate license and began selling homes in 1971, after retiring from the Military as an Army Recruiter. The specialty of selling church properties began when he managed a merger of two church congregations. Richard was selected as the realtor to represent the "extra" building from the merger needing to be placed on the market and sold. He then continued in the church property specialty his entire career.

In 1983, Mike Messier followed in his father's footsteps by specializing in church property sales. His brother Kevin joined him in 1985. The brothers began their careers at Real Estate One Commercial. and in 1987 founded Real Estate Professional Services (REPS). Also in 1983, Richard Messier and Matt Messier (the youngest Messier brother) took their specialty to Florida. Today, Richard is retired and Matt has grown the business to include not only Florida, but the southeast United States region.

The Real Estate Professional Team has a solid reputation because of their integrity, customer service and commitment to each buyer and seller, focusing on the details of every transaction. For generations, Church leaders have been contacting the REPS Team with confidence. Together, Mike and Kevin have over eighty years experience specializing in church real estate throughout the state of Michigan. They have sold over thirteen hundred church properties, averaging thirty-five to forty church properties every year.

They have represented and interacted with various denominations and organizations including Episcopal Dioceses of Michigan, Eastern Michigan District of the Church of the Nazarene, Southeast Michigan Synod of Evangelical Lutheran Churches in America, multiple religious and financial organizations, nonprofit lenders and credit unions.
